We got a little baggie full of locally grown pistachios in our SLO Veg box. I intended to use them in some sort of dish, like a pistachio crusted mackerel or something of that sort.
The nuts came from Bell Farms in Coalinga. Handily, there is a listing of growers on the SLO Veg website. It tells us that Bell Farms grows pesticide-free fruits and nuts. They were salted just right and every one of the shells was split open like they're supposed be. Perfect for eating. Recipe?
Alas! It was not to be as the pistachios just became our evening snack.
